Hidden Valley Olive Oil By Hidden Valley
Tasting Notes and Food Pairings:
Hidden Valley makes a superior Extra Virgin Olive Oil from a blend of olive cultivars. They are harvested 60% green and 40% ripe resulting in medium-intense oil, with flavours of fresh cut grass, green tomatoes, artichokes and almonds. Finally a spicy, pepper aftertaste promotes the intensity of the oil.
This oil is great with all foods, salads, soups and as a snack with bread
Thriving in ancient, fertile granite soils and combined with the altitude and a strict regime of working with nature, as well as our resolve of sacrificing quantity over quality, the vineyards and olive groves of Hidden Valley are responsible for delivering some of the finest handcrafted wines and olives for your enjoyment.
The farm, a member of the Biodiversity and Wine Initiative, is run by a philosophy of “working with nature”. The cellar is surrounded by vineyards, olive groves, almond orchards and fynbos gardens, each occupying an integral part of the farms’ ecosystem.
In addition to this, conservation and recycling has become a mantra at Hidden Valley. It is important to us to ensure that we reduce waste by recycling everything possible on the farm.
Hidden Valley is also home to over 3000 olive trees whose fruit produces award winning extra virgin olive oil, Calamata and Noccelera de Belice table olives and home made Tapenade.
Hidden Valley Olive oil is made from 5 different cultivars: Leccino, Coratina, Frantoio, Mission, Favola.
They are harvested 60% green and 40% ripe resulting in medium-intense oil.
