The meetÂing folÂlows a two-day conÂferÂence in Dixon, California where an indusÂtry marÂketÂing order was proÂposed, and another conÂferÂence in nearby Napa Valleyon olive oil qualÂity for food indusÂtry buyÂers. Senator Wolk attended the Napa and Dixon events.
Dan Flynn, who for years worked in the state legÂisÂlaÂture before estabÂlishÂing the UC Davis Olive Center, will start the sesÂsion speakÂing on extra virÂgin olive oil fraud, folÂlowed by author Tom Mueller.
Offering local indusÂtry perÂspecÂtives will be Gregg Kelley, CEO of California Olive Ranch; Brady Whitlow, presÂiÂdent of Corto-Olive; Brendon Flynn, presÂiÂdent of the California Olive Oil Council; and Jim Etters, direcÂtor of land manÂageÂment for Yocha Dehe Winton Nation.
