Recent News

Cobram Estate, a producer originally from Australia, has been recognized at the NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for its high-quality extra virgin olive oils produced in the United States. The company, which expanded its operations to the Sacramento Valley in 2014, received three Silver Awards at the prestigious event.

The winning entries include Cobram Estate California Select, which features the Arbequina cultivar. This selection is part of their range that includes unique varieties such as Picual, Coratina, and Arbequina. Additionally, Cobram Estate’s Everyday Essentials line was acknowledged with two Silver Awards. The Everyday Essentials Robust, made from the Coratina cultivar, is noted for its spicy, fruity, and leafy flavor profile with medium bitterness and pungency. Meanwhile, the Everyday Essentials Mild, also based on the Arbequina cultivar, is characterized by its sweetness, clean palate, low bitterness, and slight pungency.

The World Olive Oil Competition is a significant event in the olive oil industry, highlighting the quality and diversity of olive oils from around the globe. Cobram Estate’s success at the competition underscores the potential of California’s fertile soil and Mediterranean climate in producing world-class olive oils.

The winning brands are presented in the Official Guide and the Olive Oil Times World Ranking.
