Recent News

Oli Cometes, a family-run producer based in La Pobla de Cérvoles, Catalonia, Spain, has been recognized at the NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition. The company received a Gold Award for its Cosmos extra virgin olive oil, which is crafted from organic and biodynamic Arbequina olives.

The NYIOOC, known for its rigorous standards, is a prestigious event in the olive oil industry, attracting entries from around the globe. Oli Cometes’ success highlights the quality of its production methods, which are rooted in organic and biodynamic agriculture.

The Les Cometes estate, where Oli Cometes operates, is home to 1,600 olive trees and is certified as both BIO and DEMETER. The estate’s commitment to sustainable practices is reflected in its dryland and extensive arrangement of olive trees.

The World Olive Oil Competition serves as a benchmark for excellence in the industry, and Oli Cometes’ achievement underscores its dedication to producing high-quality olive oil. The Cosmos variety, noted for its organic and biodynamic credentials, stood out among numerous entries, securing its place among the top olive oils recognized this year.

The winning brands are presented in the Official Guide and the Olive Oil Times World Ranking.
