Brief
Olivapalacios, a family-run olive oil producer from Spain, has been recognized with two Gold Awards at the NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition. The awards were given for their Palacio de Los Olivos Arbequina and Palacio de los Olivos Picual oils.
The NYIOOC, known as the World Olive Oil Competition, is a prestigious event that evaluates olive oils from around the globe. Olivapalacios’ winning entries highlight the quality of their extra virgin olive oils, which are produced from 100 percent Picual and Arbequina olives.
The Palacio de Los Olivos Arbequina, which received a Gold Award, is crafted from hand-picked Arbequina olives. These olives are pressed immediately at the on-site mill located on the family farm, ensuring the oil’s quality and freshness.
Similarly, the Palacio de los Olivos Picual, also a Gold Award recipient, is harvested within a three-week period on the farm. This method is employed to maintain a consistent organoleptic profile each season.
Olivapalacios operates in the Campo de Calatrava region of Almagro, Ciudad Real, where their olive grove spans 210 hectares of volcanic soil. This unique environment contributes to the distinct characteristics of their oils.
The recognition at the NYIOOC underscores Olivapalacios’ commitment to producing high-quality extra virgin olive oils, reinforcing their position in the global olive oil market.
The winning brands are presented in the Official Guide and the Olive Oil Times World Ranking.
