While an impressive contingent of olive oil intelligentsia gathered in Verona, Italy this week to discuss the pursuit of olive oil excellence, many olive oil pros and enthusiasts around the world who couldn’t make it to the three-day Beyond Extra Virgin conference tuned in to the Twitter updates streamed live on Olive Oil Times. In all, nearly 870 from 29 countries kept tabs on the discourse during the 72-hour period. Alexandra Devarenne covered the event with live updates along with Lorenzo Baccioni from the Italian consulting firm Agrivision, Paul Vossen from the University of California and other presenters and attendees.

Presentations and panel discussions addressed topics such as planning for particular extra virgin olive oil flavor profiles, controlling critical production operations for sensory influence, appropriate sensory measurement, and describing olive oil characteristics in the marketplace.
