The Sol d'Oro Souther Hemisphere competition was held at the Casa Labia Cultural Center in Muizenberg, once the residence of South Africa's first Italian ambassador.

South America did well at the Sol d’Oro Southern Hemisphere 2015 winning the three Golden Medals, but South Africa – which hosted the second edition of the competition organized by Veronafiere – achieved the greatest number of awards overall.

The host country achieved 5 out of 9 Medals and 9 out of 12 Grand Mentions, according to a press release. The total number of entries was not specified.

According to the jury, the general quality of the samples was good, in spite of a difficult year due to prolonged drought.

The award ceremony took place on the 10th September at the cultural center Casa Labia in Cape Town.
