South America did well at the Sol d’Oro Southern Hemisphere 2015 winning the three Golden Medals, but South Africa – which hosted the second edition of the competition organized by Veronafiere – achieved the greatest number of awards overall.
The host country achieved 5 out of 9 Medals and 9 out of 12 Grand Mentions, according to a press release. The total number of entries was not specified.
According to the jury, the general quality of the samples was good, in spite of a difficult year due to prolonged drought.
The award ceremony took place on the 10th September at the cultural center Casa Labia in Cape Town.
