Nar Gourmet Debuts Mobile Olive Oil Production Truck

With the sup­port of Turkey’s Min­istry of Indus­try, the olive oil pro­ducer Nar Gourmet is tak­ing a new step in the olive oil sec­tor with a project that will bring the fac­tory to the fields. Local olives from Hatay, Mersin, Antalya, Man­isa, Ayvalık could be processed within just two hours after har­vest by the com­pa­ny’s new mobile olive oil pro­duc­tion truck.

The project also has an inter­na­tional pur­pose. It is aimed to col­lect gene sources with the local olive vari­eties of Mardin, Hatay, Man­isa, Mersin, Antalya, Ayvalık and to pro­mote local tastes inter­na­tion­ally.

Nar Gourmet is a leader in the nat­ural prod­ucts mar­ket, espe­cially in jam, mar­malade and olive oil, and its brands are dis­trib­uted through more than 600 points through­out Turkey, the com­pany reported, as well as exported to coun­tries includ­ing the United States, Canada, Japan, China and Ger­many

Jam and mar­malade from Nar Gourmet won the Out­stand­ing Prod­uct Award” from ITQI (Inter­na­tional Taste and Qual­ity Insti­tute). Its olive oil won a Gold Award at the 2014 New York Inter­na­tional Olive Oil Com­pe­ti­tion.

Samir Bayrak­tar, Nar Gourmet’s man­ag­ing direc­tor said The pur­pose of mak­ing the mobile olive oil pro­cess­ing unit is to carry the taste from the fields to our table with­out sac­ri­fic­ing the qual­ity. With this project, high qual­ity olive oil could be made in places with few olive trees where it isn’t finan­cially suit­able to build fac­to­ries.”


Mobile pro­duc­tion truck will sup­port small man­u­fac­tur­ers, and the regional tastes that have never been noticed until now will be avail­able nation­ally and inter­na­tion­ally,” Bayrak­tar added.

The new truck was built at a cost of 320,000 Turk­ish Liras ($144,251) and will travel 4,100 kilo­me­ters.
