Best Olive Oils from the Southern Hemisphere to Be Unveiled
The first winners will be announced on Monday, September 4th at 9:00 AM (EDT).
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition will begin unveiling award winners in the Southern Hemisphere division of the annual quality contest.
Competition organizers said they would release the results in three batches, with the first winners announced on Monday, September 4th, at 9:00 AM in New York (14:00 UTC). More results will be released in mid-September, and the final outcomes will be announced in early October.
Earlier this year, the NYIOOC revealed the winners from Northern Hemisphere countries.
Producers in the Northern Hemisphere harvest from September to January, while most Southern Hemisphere growers collect their fruits from March through July. The NYIOOC conducts its analyses accordingly and publicizes the two sets of results to inform the public and food industry professionals on top-rated brands at their peak of freshness.
Award-winning brands are presented in the Official Guide to the World’s Best Olive Oils and in particular sections of Olive Oil Times.
More than 1,100 brands from 30 countries have participated in the 2023 NYIOOC, the eleventh edition of the world’s largest and most prestigious olive oil quality competition.
