Dark Hollow Farm Achieves Success at NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition

Recent News

Dark Hollow Farm, a family-owned farm located in the Rogue Valley of southern Oregon, has been recognized at the NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition. The farm, known for its organic olive production, received a Gold Award for its Taggiasca-Maurino + Picual-Arbequina blend and a Silver Award for its Picual-Arbequina blend.

The Gold Award-winning blend, Dark Hollow Farm Taggiasca-Maurino + Picual-Arbequina, is a mix of approximately 52 percent Taggiasca, 23 percent Maurino, 20 percent Picual, and 5 percent Arbequina olives. This blend highlights the farm’s commitment to producing fresh and aromatic olive oils.

In addition, the farm’s Picual-Arbequina blend, which consists of about 80 percent Picual and 20 percent Arbequina olives, earned a Silver Award at the World Olive Oil Competition. Both blends are certified organic, reflecting Dark Hollow Farm’s dedication to sustainable farming practices.

Dark Hollow Farm’s olives are handpicked in October while still green and milled on-site within hours of harvesting. This process ensures the production of high-quality extra virgin olive oils. The recognition at the NYIOOC underscores the farm’s role in the organic olive oil industry in the United States.

The winning brands are presented in the Official Guide and the Olive Oil Times World Ranking.
