Deep frying olive oil?

The smok­ing point of olive oil is in the mid­dle among cook­ing oils and it is plenty high for almost all cook­ing, includ­ing deep fry­ing — and in fact is a much health­ier option. Any olive oil can be used to fry foods at nor­mal fry­ing tem­per­a­tures (deep fry­ing is 325 – 375°F). For very high-heat cook­ing at over 400°F, use another oil like sun­flower.
