Brief
Vedema, a disÂtinÂguished Greek extra virÂgin olive oil, has been awarded a Silver medal at the 2025 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition. This recogÂniÂtion highÂlights the qualÂity and craftsÂmanÂship behind this prodÂuct, which origÂiÂnates from the renowned Kritsa olive groves in Lasithi, Crete.
Produced by Mourello, Vedema is crafted from the Koroneiki olive variÂety, known for its fruity flaÂvor and aroÂmatic proÂfile. The olive trees in Kritsa have a long hisÂtory of traÂdiÂtional culÂtiÂvaÂtion, with harÂvestÂing takÂing place from November to early January each year. The olives are hand-picked and pressed within two days of harÂvestÂing, ensurÂing the freshÂness and qualÂity of the oil.
The Kritsa region is celÂeÂbrated for its olive groves, which have been mainÂtained since ancient times. Vedema’s low acidÂity and rich taste are a tesÂtaÂment to the careÂful proÂducÂtion methÂods employed by Mourello. This award at the NYIOOC furÂther cements Vedema’s staÂtus as a fine examÂple of Greek extra virÂgin olive oil.
