Durant Olive Mill Secures Multiple Gold Awards at NYIOOC

Durant Olive Mill, based in the United States, has been rec­og­nized at the NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, secur­ing mul­ti­ple Gold Awards for its extra vir­gin olive oils. The mill, located in Oregon, is noted for its seven hectares of olive trees and its com­mit­ment to qual­ity under the guid­ance of cer­ti­fied mas­ter miller Paul Durant.

Among the award-win­ning entries, Durant Olive Mill Frantoio received a Gold Award. This extra vir­gin olive oil is described as delight­fully fra­grant, start­ing out smooth and but­tery, with a lin­ger­ing pep­pery fin­ish. Another Gold Award went to Durant Olive Mill Arbequina, noted for its sweet grass aroma and mild, smooth fla­vor with a hint of green banana.

The Durant Olive Mill Mission also earned a Gold Award, fea­tur­ing rich, green aro­mas of arugula and radic­chio, with a mild, pep­pery fin­ish. Additionally, the Durant Olive Mill Tuscan was awarded Gold, char­ac­ter­ized by aro­mas of chard and ripe black olive, com­ple­mented by a but­tery palate with fla­vors of unripe avo­cado, net­tle, green tea, and toasted pine nut.

The Durant Olive Mill Estate Blend received a Silver Award. This blend is com­posed of Leccino, Arbequina, Koroneiki, and Picual olives, all grown on the farm in Oregon. Durant Olive Mill’s achieve­ments at the com­pe­ti­tion high­light its role as a key player in the olive oil indus­try in the United States.
