Brief
Miceli & Sensat, an olive oil proÂducer based in Italy, has been recÂogÂnized at the NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, securÂing two Gold Awards for their organic extra virÂgin olive oils (EVOOs). The comÂpeÂtiÂtion, known for its rigÂorÂous stanÂdards, highÂlighted the qualÂity of Miceli & Sensat’s prodÂucts.
The award-winÂning entries from Miceli & Sensat include ‘U’Ciuri’, which received a Gold Award in the Organic catÂeÂgory. This EVOO is made from the Nocellara del Belice culÂtiÂvar and is part of the IGP Sicilia selecÂtion that the comÂpany curates annuÂally.
Another Gold Award was given to ‘Verde’, an organic EVOO made from the Cerasuola culÂtiÂvar. ‘Verde’ is noted for its fresh, vegÂeÂtal aroÂmas, which include hints of green almonds, letÂtuce, celÂery, and unripe bananas.
Miceli & Sensat’s olive grove spans 115 hectares and includes 46,000 olive trees of five difÂferÂent variÂeties: Nocellara del Belice, Biancolilla, Cerasuola, Arbequina, and Picual. The comÂpany processes its olives within two hours of harÂvestÂing in its own mill to mainÂtain high organolepÂtic qualÂiÂties. The EVOOs are stored in a conÂtrolled enviÂronÂment with noble gases to preÂserve their qualÂity.
The World Olive Oil Competition is a presÂtiÂgious event that recÂogÂnizes excelÂlence in olive oil proÂducÂtion globÂally. Miceli & Sensat’s achieveÂments at the NYIOOC underÂscore the comÂpaÂny’s comÂmitÂment to proÂducÂing high-qualÂity organic olive oils.
The winÂning brands are preÂsented in the Official Guide and the Olive Oil Times World Ranking.
