Heatwave, Deadly Fires Threaten the Olive Harvest in Greece
In the first week of August, Greece faced the most severe heatwave in 30 years.
Local producers said they're facing an unprecedented situation
“Many trees that have been harmed by the heat have already dropped most of their olive fruits as they can no longer sustain them.”
Wildfires exacerbated by extreme heat have also ravaged olive farms in Italy, Turkey and Algeria.
